Live Aboard in Hurghada

Transfer to your boat, check in to begin your diving program, which begins at 09:00 am. The route start of the live aboard is the Marine sports club in Hurgada. Depending on the weather conditions, you decide if you are first going to the reefs in the south as Panorama Reefs (One of the highlights of the area. Huge coral formation with walls dropping to over 200m. Numerous grottos and overhangs, gorgonians and soft corals. Jacks, barracudas and reef sharks often visit the area. ) and Abu Kafan, or to the north for some wreck dives in Abu Nuhas (is a magnificent Coral plateau that barely reaches the surface and, from a distance, is not easily seen at all.

Unfortunately, as far as shipping is concerned, it lies right at the very edge of the busy shipping lane called the Straits of Gobal - found at that extreme northwest corner where the Red Sea begins to narrow before it becomes the Gulf of Suez. It has always been the very last obstacle between the ships and the open Red Sea. With Jeddah another 600 miles further south and, thinking that only the open Red Sea was between him and his destination, the Giannis D was seen to suddenly wander from her allotted course and drive hard onto the northwest corner of Abu Nuhas Reef).

If you are going to the Wreck, like Thistlegorm (with divers from all over the world, although some consider her a war grave, The Thistlegrom was a World War 2 army cargo ship heading to supply the British 8th Army in North Africa. She was packed to the gills with machinery and ammunition when she was sank by a German bomber on 6th October, 1941), on your way from the north in the south, you join some great early morning dives at the top reefs of Hurgada as Abu Ramada (Two little islands surrounded by a single reef. Good drift dive along the steep eastern wall, with big fan corals, overhangs and swim through.

Big groupers and carangids), or Careless Reef (This isolated reef, lying between Shaab Umm Qamar and Giftun island is known to divers the world over for its large population of semi-tame moray eels, Reef composition is diverse, with most coral species, both hard and soft, making a vibrant and interesting coral habitat). As well as the famous eels, there are innumerable species of reef fishes. The reef's isolation, combined with the deep water in which it lies, make it ideal for pelagic-spotting, and sharks are as likely here as at any reef in the area. Jacks, tuna and barracuda are also frequently spotted. Overnight at your boat.
